Late Opening SA2023

Have applied this year studying Economics at semi target with spring week at BB but have been completely unsuccessful with anything with only a couple first rounds for smaller banks. Have mainly applied for AM and ER but will literally take anything at this point. Does anyone have any advice for what my next steps should be? London applicant btw

Mate don't worry I was in your shoes until a few days ago. Recruiting this year has been horrible - made about the same amount of applications this year with a stronger profile and had about a quarter of the responses I had last year. Heard a rumour a few BB would reopen SA recruiting this quarter so join the early career talent networks and reach out to early career recruiters on LinkedIn.

If you can't secure an internship - look at smaller local firms, maybe found a start-up or start your own side-project to show you have been productive over the summer. Not securing a summer internship is not the be all end all nor will it not ruin your career prospects. Maybe look into master's programs?

( I also do econ at a semi-target - feel free to PM if you need any help with IM apps (: )
