Lateral after SA Dinge?

Hey guys, I'm looking for some opinions on a situation. I interned as a CB SA this summer, didn't get a return because I lacked interest. I networked with some bankers in the same firm and one of them happens to be head of recruiting. Should I e-mail him asking about their FT recruiting timeline? I'm a bit hesitant because I'm not sure what conversations about me will be exchanged since the groups do interact at a senior level and will I potentially ruin the relationships I've developed/can develop? FT opportunities seem to be slimmer as time goes on so I definitely want to make sure I look at every opportunity. Thank you!
