Lateral Follow Up Time Frame? Am I Being Paranoid?

Trying to lateral to a new group of a MM bank. Had a great, in person, interview with an MD and he told me multiple times he wanted me to talk to the head MD. Interview went great. He told me my experience was very relevant and that I was "awesome." He told me to give him a few days. This was 7 days ago. I followed up with a thank you email. And just followed up again. Should I be concerned? I know lateral hiring is extremely unorganized and that he is literally weeks into his new position and building out an entire team from scratch but I can't help but be paranoid about the fact that if they wanted to hire me they probably would move fast.
