Lateral in the Bay Area if not GS/MS/Q worth it?
Hey all, I hope someone who is pretty familiar with the Bay Area banking scene can chime in. I am a current As1 in a 2nd tier BB in the Bay (Boa/BarCap/Citi). I know the Tech banking scene is dominated by GS/MS/Q so I was wondering if y'all think it's worth it to lateral within let's say one of the 2nd tier banks I mentioned above (ex. Citi => Boa) or even from 2nd tier to like a JPM purely for exit opps and not for the sake of a promotion.
