Lateral into EB IB — 2–3 Weeks to Prep. What Should I Actually Learn?
Hey guys — I’m lateraling from strategy consulting into an Analyst role at an EB. I’m solid on the finance technicals and general PowerPoint, but I haven’t really done the core IB analyst work day to day.
I’ve got ~2–3 weeks before I start and want to prep efficiently. Obviously Excel is the big one, but beyond that, what else should I be prioritizing (e.g. modeling workflows, comps, process work, formatting standards, etc.)?
Also — any specific resources / crash courses you’d recommend for learning this stuff properly before day 1?
Appreciate any guidance.
