Starting to see a few people here or there leaving early for immediate start date buyside opportunities.
What level of comp increase makes it worth it to lateral?
When I looked at lateraling it was more for an upgrade in exit opportunities than a boost in comp. I figured that IB analyst comp was just a drop in the bucket compared to what I hoped to make in my career so setting myself up for future success was more important than $$$ at this point.
@make definitely an astute point about the Jan to March time period for lateral hiring. as a december grad, its hard to make that move without a little bit more experience under my belt. but i've also found people to be much more receptive to networking calls/conversations. compelling enough reason to consider those looking to make a move down the line to consider reaching out now as opposed to late september/early october.

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive an offer after a second round interview for a lateral position?
Seems to be very scattered depending on the firm you're interviewing with. On average, I'd say a few days or a week after you go into the office.
