was helping a nephew look for apartments in sf, and I was comparing them to prices in nyc for fun and holy cow nyc has gone insane. you can find a pretty spacious apartment in a nice neighborhood for under 3k. everything was either way smaller, way more expensive, or in a bad neighborhood (LES/brooklyn/hells kitchen or wayyyy uptown in the upper east side, almost in harlem).
Those aren’t low cost cities
