Lazard exit opps in Europe

I got an offer from Lazard for their second largest European office (ie, not London), though I will be spending some time in the London office as well.

My question is: how well is Lazard regarded in Europe, and does it give you the same exit opps into PE here as it does in the US?

Does anyone here know people who have been at Lazard in Europe and now work at top PE funds?

Cheers,

alcman

Lazard = top notch, nowhere better in Europe right now for pure M&A/Restructuring IMHO, fantastically skilled people in London, dealflow is excellent even in this downmarket (especially in FIG), reputation is great within finance community, job security (while not great) is a lot better than most BBs, Lazard London does not have a hire and fire mentality.

However, people who constantly worry about exit opps = thinking a little bit too far ahead....

How about you see if you can actually stick out 2-3 years of M&A before worrying about PE? Are you so sure the PE industry will even exist in its current form in 3 years?

If you get into Lazard, you've done well, focus on continuing to do well and don't take it for granted that you will make PE....it's.not.that.easy.
