Lazard London - Teams and Culture 2026

I am considering a lateral move to Lazard. I have been networking a fair bit but would be great to have more insights in different teams, what the culture is like, hours, team spirit between Analysts and Associates. I got a lot of infos on NYC and Paris but not a lot about London unfortuantely.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about Lazard London:

Teams:

  • TMT and Healthcare Teams: Both are highly regarded, offering strong experiences from junior to senior levels. These teams provide exposure to large-cap deals and opportunities to develop advanced technical modeling skills.
  • Diversity in Backgrounds: Lazard London values a mix of educational backgrounds, with a focus on maintaining a 50:50 male-to-female ratio. However, the quality of candidates can vary, with some being highly academic and others less so.

Culture:

  • Collaborative Environment: The training program is described as "awesome," with a non-competitive atmosphere during the initial years. Meeting colleagues from across Europe and the London Analyst class fosters a sense of camaraderie.
  • Mixed Candidate Quality: While some hires are exceptionally strong, others may lack technical expertise but bring strong interpersonal skills. This mix can influence team dynamics.
  • Work Hours: Hours can be rough at times, but teams generally manage time well, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively.

Team Spirit:

  • Analyst and Associate Dynamics: The culture is generally positive, with a focus on collaboration. However, there are mentions of "particular characters" being hired, which could mean a mix of personalities within teams.

If you're considering a lateral move, Lazard London offers a strong platform for technical growth and deal experience, especially in teams like TMT and Healthcare. However, be prepared for varying levels of technical expertise among colleagues and potentially demanding hours.
