Least Woke BB/EBs

Wanna know the ones where I have at least a little leeway and won’t get fired if the word retard or sperg slips while I’m working. Also don’t wanna work alongside the woke mind virus geed types. What are the least woke BB/EBs or least woke groups lmao?

Literally every bank. Once you’re past the veil of 6 hour long diversity training views mandated by HR, you realize everyone is still a relatively conservative chad.

No you’re not gonna get away with dropping the R word around anywhere because generally speaking - well educated people (who banks essentially screen for) think it’s ignorant. However I feel most people at the junior level still lean fratty and conservative

Nah most of them are leftists, especially the diversity ones. It's funny that they're the most vocal ones too. Had one gay guy (guessed off his voice and surprise surprise he has pride programs on his resume) openly mention his hatred for people against gun control legislation. Some other dude complained about Republicans randomly and how they made Twitter a hateful and unusable social media platform. Have like a couple people I know who are right leaning tho and can shoot the shit with them about politics sometimes. Still chill with everybody in my class despite the political differences. I really don't think politics is that big of a deal imo

Agreed…the only thing I hate is that he can talk about how he hates people who are pro gun but if I said the opposite I’d get fired. It’s absurd and the left are geniuses for indoctrinating this into the highest realms of corporate America and academia. Glad to hear most ppl at BBs aren’t as quick to cancel you as the average Ivy League kid tho!

Hating whatever is 'woke' at the time until it benefits you is the story of the past 70 years.  Odds are if you care about this sht you will be back here in 12 months complaining about how your MD 'doesn't care about your mental health,' lol.

Yes, people in banking are more conservative than most professionals. However, they are still young, well educated and probably come from an affluent background. Meaning that you're not going to be able to get away with ranting about drag queen story hour or whatever dumb culture war is in the news at the time.

Lol at thinking “woke” banks actually enforce protected Saturdays or have lighter hours. All of the virtue signaling is smoke and mirrors that doesn’t apply on the job.

It was half shitpost. Like yeah I don’t wanna work somewhere where I have to console my coworker for 5 hours cuz our MD called him cat boy, but I’m also not planning on going around harassing people at company events and calling them retards lmao.

no it's deeper. if ur manager is a libtard they will eventually prod u to see if u r too and it's infuriating to have to keep up that façade.

was an a small firm and had this happen it's a risk that need legitimate assessment

There is nothing wrong with saying those words when you don't mean harmful intent, but you're working in a professional setting either way. Act like a professional or you get fired. That's how every bank works. You won't find anything different.

Ofc there isn't, but we live in a retarded pc world now. I just recently got lectured on a (first) date about saying sperg, needless to say we split the check and I never contacted the bitch again

You don't know what you are talking about. GS started pink day / week in HK to celebrate LGBTQIA+ and it has caught on in BB circles like wild fire. MS probably the only major western bank not to have this specific celebration because (as petty as it might sound), this tradition is viewed as tied to GS in HK so they try their best to resist. This is not to say that MS doesn't have its own brand of wokesm in Asia.

Every publicly traded bank will be some degree of woke. It's a matter of degree. They're all going to send out dumb pride/BLM e-mails and have diversity programs. The difference is in banks that go "well we tried" when they end up with 10% diversity and the banks that scrape the barrel to hit some higher target

The more impactful difference for you as an individual is group culture, which will differ wildly from bank to bank and doesn't necessarily correlate with the above. Generally, Energy will be the least woke and TMT the most woke with everything else somewhere in between. But even then, there's huge variation.

In a TMT BB group and I would say 70% of them are leftists. 30%, which includes myself, are conservative/libertarian. One of the interns and I bool around and talk politics sometimes and just roast leftist ideology. We say retard a lot. Even one of the leftist interns doesn't really say anything or get mad when we say retard. They just laugh. Although maybe I might be canceled and not get a return offer if they snitched on me behind my back. However, our manager is pretty right leaning and not PC, despite being a woman.

What is this absurd definition of a leftist? If you mean corporate Democrats who aren’t racist, homophobic or transphobic, ok fine, but unless people think the banks should have been nationalised in 2008 and their shareholders wiped out and bankers are a bunch of overpaid assholes who create no societal value, they’re not leftists.

Just because progressive and free market beliefs overlap like once in a decade, doesn't mean that most of their ideas are not completely delusional economically, at least imo. Yeah I didn't agree with the banks getting bailed out in 2008 and wanted them to fail. So did progressives. Not gonna give them credit and pretend they're rational all of a sudden given all the other bullshit they proposed. How can you criticize my definition of leftist when I never even defined it in my original comment? I guess I should've clarified that when I say leftist, I don't mean strictly communists or Marx nuthuggers. Just meant anyone left of center. So if you're a moderate democrat or a Bernie Sanders die hard I'm still calling you a leftist for simplicity to refer to all types of people on the left. You may not subscribe by that definition, but I'm not accusing people of being communists
