Leaving BB after 1-year for small-cap PE
Hi all,
I have recently started at a BB in London, but find myself not liking the bulge bracket environment very much and wanting to go back to my home country (central Europe, smaller market), where I have my friends and family. London was supposed to be a temporary pit-stop anyway, and now I am finding myself wanting to leave as soon as possible.
I have managed to establish some connections with a few small-cap PE firms back home, and am wondering how quickly I should make the jump over to small cap PE, as this is what I eventually want to do. Is it common/acceptable to jump to the buy-side after being a BB analyst for only a year?
Thanks, PP
I know of a few cases where people have jumped ship to PE just after the one-year mark. Don't know how this is viewed in general though
