Leaving IB after 7-8 months to go adjacent role in PE?
Hey all, to cut to the chase I’m an AN1 right now at a BB (JPM/Citi/BofA/DB) in a Securitization/DCM/CLO type role. Recently got the offer to join a MFPE shop (BX/KKR/TPG/Apollo) for an adjacent role but focused on private placements. So the work is similar albeit a bit more expanded in terms of responsibility as the team runs lean, but I’m wondering if:
1. Am I leaving my bank too soon without enough training and knowledge as an AN1?
2. Is this spot a good stepping stone to eventually become an investor?
3. Should I do this??
