How does LevFin stack up against an industry team for PE exits?

Have the same question as well. I have heard that generally speaking M&A team is better than LevFin team for getting PE interviews. However, I feel like, after getting the interview, the LevFin banker will have a massive advantage, and from this point onwards, it is performance driven.
