Life after SA internship

For many of us who managed to get an internship this Summer, especially in BBs, are in their last day of their internship today. In some other companies, the last day will be a week from now.

So, what is everyone going to do between the end of their internship and the beginning of classes?

hmm, personally I think I am going to travel the world, become a monk in Tibet and settle down somewhere in western Asia.

Do you really need to be spoon-fed the plans of others in a similar situation post-offer? Dude.... live your fucking life... there is a VERY bright and shiny world out there

RuffRyder350How about try and get a life? You're 19... have some fun. Don't rely on WSO for every aspect of your life

No worries, I have a lot of fun and go to a fun college. Just happens that the last few weeks of summer I'll be home and none of my friends will be available, so wanted to see if anyone on WSO had really good experiences in specific travel/volunteering activities. But thanks anyway?

It's never too early to network. Or you can at least begin to build a database of people you will want to contact when you begin networking.

Volunteering ideas:

Habitat for humanity Homeless Shelter/Food kitchen Tutoring

Travel:

I did a road trip across the country and back in ~ 2 weeks a few years ago with some friends. It was an amazing experience. The conversations on the trip alone were worth it, but seeing the US was awesome as well.

We started from Indianapolis (where I am from) and took I-70 to LA and 1-40 back to IN. You can do the trip in a shorter amount of time that two weeks, but we made several stops along the way. i-70 takes you straight through Vegas on the way to LA as well as Denver. We spent ~3 days in LA and then took I-40 back. We went to Yosemite before heading back also which took some time as well as some Indian Casinos along the way.

Great experience and really cheap if you can get 1 or 2 people to go with you and don't expect to sleep in a nice hotel (or even a hotel at all) some nights.

I am a sophomore, and I will also have 3 weeks after my corporate finance internship. I was thinking about study abroad but even the latest ones start before my internship ends. That said, I was just going to use the time to study for the GMAT, pass microsoft office certifications, financial modeling, valuation, along with networking. Basically things that will help me get SA at BB.
