LinkedIn Job Post. Morgan Stanley

Banks keep posting up FT Analyst positions on Linkedin, sometimes they're promoted. Are these even real? Do they check or even recruit from these applications. Does HR ever make an effort to get someone from these apps? I applied to a BB posting on Linkedin in and when I checked my status it automatically said, "No longer being considered" it was posted an hour ago, Morgan Stanley. What does this mean?

Banks usually post these online as spots become available.

Once in blue moon, you can actually get an interview from applying online but I would recommend networking when looking to actually land an interview (especially for a BB).

I remember an very senior person at a MM explained to me for a IB Analyst role posting I saw on my school's career website:

For schools that are non-targets, the posting functions as on-campus recruiting where resumes from that school goes to a team or person assigned to review submissions. The funny thing about it is that I got in touch with him through networking and he asked why he never saw my resume after I mentioned I applied before in the past.

For networking, I would usually take the route of emailing the school alumni at IBs and try to expand my reach from there.

I actually did not usually attend networking events (unless it was a school networking event or pre-session) since Bankers are usually too busy for these events.
