LionTree Recruiting - London

Anyone have insights into LionTree recruiting in London for Off Cycles?

Spoke to a senior recently who agreed to refer me but there's only been silence since our initial exchange.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights into LionTree recruiting in London for off-cycle internships:

  1. General Insights on Boutique Recruiting:

    • Recruiting from newer boutiques like LionTree can be challenging but not impossible. It may not be as straightforward as recruiting from a bulge bracket (BB) bank, but it is certainly feasible with the right approach and networking.
  2. Networking:

    • Networking is crucial. Since you have already spoken to a senior who agreed to refer you, this is a positive step. However, follow-up is key. If there has been silence since your initial exchange, consider sending a polite follow-up email to express your continued interest and inquire about the status of your application.
  3. Recruitment Process:

    • The recruitment process for off-cycle internships can vary. Some firms may have a more structured process with set timelines, while others may be more flexible and opportunistic in their hiring.
  4. Typical Timeline:

    • For off-cycle internships in London, the timeline can be less predictable compared to summer internships. It is common for applications to be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews can happen at any time throughout the year.
  5. Persistence:

    • Persistence and patience are important. If you do not hear back immediately, it does not necessarily mean a negative outcome. Continue to network and apply to other opportunities as well.

Global head of hiring said our off-cycles are already determined for now. But an analyst said there might be something in Q1 but don't know if the candidate is already determined.

Also they run super lean and very limited analyst spots with no leeway for headcount. One An transferred there from US office after visa, one An is there from Canada, another guy got FT for next year but got a chance to start this year only because someone left.

got it, im assuming that means no hiring for now then. thanks for the detailed response, really appreciate it
