Little to No Deal Flow
Is anyone else experiencing this right now? Joined a new firm about a year ago as an Aso and have not gotten staffed on a single deal, only two co-staffings. I’ve heard things are slow but this seems exceptionally slow. Is it just that I’m new or is something else going on here…?
What type of firm? We have never been busier, though we skew heavy in some sectors that are resistent to business cyclicality, but deals are getting more difficult to get closed.
Joined a PE shop recently that’s famous on here for being sweaty, have been working on average 6 hours a day. Some days more but rarely leaving after 8pm. Really wondering why the hell I was hired
are u at veritas? i heard the first 6 months are always like that as they ramp you up and then they jack up the hours to the point where you regret not just staying in IB
When you say co-staffing, do you mean you're staffed with a more senior associate?
If so, that's pretty normal until you've proven you can handle the associate role on your own.
Workflow and deal revenue have been down across the board this year for many places
It really seems like IB is getting hammered this year. ECM is basically 0… why isn’t it being talked about more?
How do they keep the lights on at your firm?
