London bankers, where do you get your suits?

Just curious, do most people get made to measure / bespoke or just off the rack?

Is it still 'acceptable' to be spotted wearing one of those high street Hawes Curtis Charles Tyrwhitt TM Lewin as you move up the ranks?

For anyone that has MTM / bespoke, any tailor recommendations and what prices are we looking at?

Off the rack is perfectly acceptable. Don’t look like shit and no one will care.

Brand depends somewhat on body build - the brands you mention don’t work for me so I’ve gone for something more old school.

MTM - got one done for £1,400 with second set of trousers. Taylor is reco from a colleague - that felt like good value (and can definitively see the difference). Will depend on fabric, maker…

Honestly if you want to spend that money on a great suit as an A1 go for it, there are worse ways to spend it. But don’t think it’s the norm

Charles Tyrhwitt, H&C, TM Lewin all solid. Charles Tyrwhitt High Holborn has some deal as it's close to all the commercial law and Justice offices; 4 shirts, any tie and pair of socks for £100 if you buy a suit there
