London FT IBD Analyst

Guys.. starting as a full time IBD analyst at a BB in London. Any advise on getting ready for the CISI exams..(I have to take those in August). Also, any general tips especially regarding housing and apartments.. I am trying to get a relatively affordable studio...Cheers

You'll get prep materials from your firm before the actual training starts. Study the materials before you hit training, cause by the time you arrive you'll be focused on everything else that is not related to your training (such as housing, setting up bank account, other admin bs, partying). Do the quiz exercises on the Fitch website (study backwards with an end goal of memorizing the anwsers). Don't bother learning evertything in-depth as the subjects are useless in your daily job. Don't fail the test as it reflects badly on you and your team will find out. With that said, you are allowed to retake the test.

Team up with other IBD analysts to get decent housing in west London (avoid CW or east London unless you're a hipster). All the good parties are in the west end and you don't want to spend 1h in a cab at 4am when you've been partying at Bodos or Maddox and you're drunk AF. If you're pedantic like me, get ensuite bathroom unless you don't mind waiting for your roomate to take a sh#t before you can hit the shower in the morning.
