Hi fellow monkeys, I was wondering how easy it was to move from a role in structured finance (ABS) to Investment Banking after a few years working in a big three rating agency (S&P -Moodys - Fitch). Many thanks in advance for your responses !!

definitely possible…not sure abt structured finance, but you could pitch yourself as an asset-level valuation guy on a FIG/RE team and that you'd help them evaluate the nitty gritty stuff that traditional bankers wouldn't know about since they spent their career working at the corporate level. I know a lot of teams like to have one guy that does all that kind of stuff, so if that's how you market yourself, you could definitely make that transition, especially if you're at the VP/D level. edit: didn’t see this for london but not sure why it would be any different from NYC, which is wh
