Did a summer analyst position at one of GS/MS in IBD and unfortunately didn't convert, didn't manage to get any other offers but received an offer from a small low tier MM investment bank to start June and want to move over to a BB or EB as soon as possible. What steps should I take, should I wait 6 months and then start applying for experienced analyst positions at BB/EBs or should I reach out to current analysts at EBs/BBs and begin networking and asking them if theres an opening for me to lateral over?

If you are 1 year from graduation, some banks let you apply to their grad schemes.
Won't that mean starting from Analyst 1 again?
