London’s EB scene
Why is London’s EB scene so different to the US? US powerhouses like PWP, Qatalyst, Greenhill and Moelis seem to be comparatively poor in the UK. Please correct if wrong but London’s EB scene seems to be largely dominated by Roths, LAZ, PJT, EVR, think CVP do well too?
Why have some of the US ones been more successful in establishing a presence? Why have others struggled?
In the US, bigger market, more chances to hunt 'whales' ie (1-5bn+ deals) with some impressive volumes. In the UK/Europe, the best EB's enter the mid-market (for example Roths and Jefferies (not an EB) will be all over anything from 300m+), where there's higher volume dominated by PE.
True, one of the few upsides of anchorage is the whaling industry
What is this new obsession with Anchorage here. I love it.
