the world was short for past 1-2 yrs, there has been some covering as of late. I personally knw of sizable positions covering. Sector has been extreme bearish, for it to get a 20% bounce would still be lows of past 5 years or so. i am long VGPMX in 401k and have small size in GDX.
trade might be exhausted at this point.
some firms down ~50-60% yoy, probably still heading downwards for a bit more (but really, who the fck knows)
