looking for advice

Hi everyone, looking for some honest advice!

I’m in my final year studying Economics. warwick uni, On track for a 2:1. I didn’t manage to get an internship in second year, which I know puts me on the back foot a bit. This year, though, I’ve secured a summer internship with a management consultancy. It’s a decent firm, but not top tier, and the grad pay is around £40k.

Longer term, I want to break into banking or at least move into a higher paying role. I’m a bit unsure what the best next step is from here. I don’t know whether it makes sense to try and leverage the consulting offer into something better, apply directly for banking roles, or consider a master’s to reset and recruit again.

If anyone has been in a similar position or has views on whether a master’s is worth it, how realistic a switch into banking is from consulting, or what I should be focusing on now, I’d really appreciate any advice.
