Los Angeles Apartment Suggestions

Hey all - lateraling from NYC to LA. Not too familiar with the housing scene at LA, so I would appreciate any tips/advice on apartment-hunting. My office is in the Century City area, and I've heard traffic is pretty bad in LA so I'd prefer to live somewhere at most ~30 minutes car ride from Century City during rush hour. Also would prefer rent to be under $2,500 (willing to search for roommate(s)). Any insight would be great!

Century City, Westwood, Brentwood, Beverly Hills are closest. Probably Brentwood the most popular.

Santa Monica, Culver City, Marina del Rey very doable with a little drive (30 minutes in worst traffic)

Too far in my opinion to be worth it: West Hollywood, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, anything in the San Fernando Valley (been there, done that)

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Distance-wise it's not too bad but time-wise the traffic is materially worse than if you were traveling West-East in the morning and vice-versa. That being said, it's still inevitably popular to live in WeHo and commute. However, if you plan on often going from WeHo further west such as partying in Santa Monica, the added time may shock you. I don't think it's a huge deal but if you're not used to driving e.g. 60 minutes to go 8 miles if you leave at the wrong time, it can throw you for a loop.

I'm looking up on Google Maps right now and it would take 30 minutes+ to make a drive from WeHo to SaMo and it's 8 PM right now. At 5 PM it takes over an hour to make that drive.

West Hollywood gets you closer to K-town / downtown I guess but that isn't as valuable to most junior bankers as living west of Century City and being much closer to SaMo/Venice/etc.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
