Losing motivation in life

Have been grinding very hard to get into investment banking. And now I’m just losing motivation in life. I’ve been thinking about how great it would be to die young in my late 30s. I’ll just work very hard, make a lot of money, spend them all, and die young. But now I’m also at a point where money can’t buy me happiness, and I don’t see how life could be pleasant or joyful. How can I be happy again? (I actually like everyone in my team and I don’t hate banking).

Yes I do have friends and a partner. We have happy hours and brunch occasionally. I’m a normal sociable person, just get depressed when I’m alone, and having trouble fall asleep lately.

Go to a therapist. If nothing is wrong with your life and you feel this way, either you have some kind of chemical imbalance in your brain or an underlying psychological issue that you recently realized.

Hey, I hear you. Congrats on your success so far, and I hope things get better for you soon. Just a potential question/idea, have you tried taking some time to do things that may be solely to help others such as giving charity, volunteering, mentoring, trying to even just spend time helping your partner, a family member and/or a friend, etc? Not sure if that may help you feel better, but again, I hope you can feel better soon. Good luck and best wishes
