Lost BlackBerry Recovery Software

Hey All- New to this site but I have an issue that I think many of us may have as well... I am currently doing my internship and the other day I LOST MY BLACKBERRY! I dont know what happened, probably fell out of my bag on the subway or something but it was gone. Going into my boss and telling him I had lost it was humiliating as hell (although not that big of a deal). However, I know that most places can remotely wipe the BlackBerry, which is what we did, but then it needs to be replaced and I lost everything I had on it that wasn't synced with my computer. I was wondering if anyone knew of any software that was out there that could maybe help recover a lost BlackBerry, rather than just wiping it an giving up on it? I tried calling it but had no luck. Any ideas? -Jeremy

Jeremy- I lost my BlackBerry a few months back and wondered the same thing. Since then I have been searching like a loser every couple of days through BlackBerry forums and stuff to try and find something that I thought would work. I tried a couple of programs and they were OK, but nothing that actually seemed like it would work. A few days ago I found a review of a new program called Get It Back on BerryReview.com. It got a great review and had a free trial so I tried it, and loved it. It has a number of functions including remote lock, sound ringer (even when on silent), sound an alarm and display any message you want on the screen like reward if found, call this number blah blah blah and all are controlled from their website. But the coolest thing that it does, which no other program did, is you can set it on the website so that the next time your BB is "active" it will automatically call a number that you supply so you can talk to whoever has your phone. I tried all the functions on the free trial, and they worked, so I bought the $10 full version. Easy download over the air. I wish I had it before I lost my $300 curve.

Oh, it also has GPS tracking apparently but I have Verizon so the GPS is shut off my phone. I assume it works though considering how well everything else did, and the reviewer said it shows exactly where your phone is on yahoomaps if you have GPS. Definitely worth the measly $10 even without the GPS capability. Hopefully this helps.

BerrySnooper lets you find and recover your 'berry in a jiffy! Using GPS and SMS technology, it's always ready to receive messages from you and responds with its current location.

* BerrySnooper never gets in your way; it runs silently in the background waiting for a secure, tracking SMS request to be received. Responses are only sent to your BerrySnooper web portal, so no one other than you can track your device. * If you find E-mail handier than SMS, that's fine. BerrySnooper will respond to tracking emails too! * You never have to manually start BerrySnooper. Once installed it will launch automatically when your phone restarts or reboots and will run silently in the background. * BerrySnooper will trigger automatically if somebody changes the SIM card and will proactively send you its locations. Foil those phone thieves!! * Just in case, BerrySnooper will send you repeated alerts about the location of the BlackBerry in case the SIM card has been changed, unless you tell it otherwise. This way you can watch those thieves on the move and have them end up where they belong! * BerrySnooper's easy to use web console lets you login and view device location on a friendly & readable map.
