Low hours roles with buy-side exits?
Hey guys, any recommendations on junior roles that have exits to buy-side? 50-70 hours preferably.
I have a chronic disease that requires around 2-3 years of steady and slow treatment, so I can't really do IB because 80-100 hours and some sleepless nights will make it intolerable to the point that I may exacerbate some symptoms. I can stand an intense workload maybe for 1 or 2 weeks, but more than that and I'll crash.
My end goal would be PE/PC, and IB is a pre-requisite for this, I know, but need to adjust my plans for the next 2 years to something more manageable hours-wise. Worst case can do an MBA afterward, but would prefer to avoid it.
Recommendations?
Hey man, unfortunately PE/PC will also require those hours (and sometimes worse) - something to consider. But MBB consulting would fit the bill for this
Honestly, MBB hours in my experience are still solidly 830-12am with maybe 30 mins of total downtime.
If you really shop around you could do banking outside of HQ or go to a LMM/MM PE firm where hours aren't nearly as bad. Why start something new if you already have the skillset?
You could do a valuation associate type thing, or something at Big 4 that has an IB exit that maybe then have a PE exit.
