LSC MSc Finance Alumni - Is there on-campus recruiting at LSE?

I'll be doing an MSc Finance at LSE next year and understand that it is a target school (I did my undergrad at a semi-target in the U.K.). I was wondering if any alumni of the programme would be able to speak on the availability of On-Campus recruiting in a similar nature to schools in the U.S., i.e. alternate routes to interviews/ACs etc.

If you are willing, would it be possible to dm some questions? Hope you're all doing well.

From what I've heard they do many more LSE only events which do have the opportunity for fast tracks for interviews. At some of the more tight-knit events there are also lse specific emails for applications like mscfinancelse2021@goldman... etc.

At least that's what I've heard

Current LSE MFin student here and no there is no real on-campus recruiting. There is a few small careers fairs and many events by societies attended by everyone, but absolutely nothing exclusive

Could you speak about how recruiting was impacted by the LSE brand name vs your undergrad? Was there a substantive difference in the number of interviews you received etc? Did u go to a semi or target undergrad?

Sure, went to a European semi-target university for bachelor so may be less relevant. My undergraduate not many focused on IB so the LSE and especially MFin helps a lot, you are full of likeminded students which is great for giving you the discipline to recruit. Make sure to start early, the course starts too late so we all lost a lot of time trying to get our shit together and find out where/what we wanted to apply for. In terms of brand its a name that stays with you and made recruiting smooth pretty smooth personally if you put in work (BB SA).

I think that right now maybe 15% have FT offers (of which 60-70% got it through previous internship), 35-40% have a summer/off-cycle offer and there is another 40-50% of which I am not sure but I know quite a few of them have nothing, especially non-EU internationals. So I would say if you get good at testing the name gets you foot in the door and then its up to you. Hope that helps, feel free to ask any questions
