Lunch in the office

How many of you bring your lunch to the office? I'm planning on it as I've gotten in really good shape over the past year and don't want to get fat from constantly eating out. It's also significantly cheaper to bring your lunch. That said, I don't want to miss out on the camaraderie you build by going to grab lunch with other analysts. Would it be weird to go with them just to tag along and not grab anything and then eat at the desk after?

This was a dilemma that I went through and my approach shifted throughout my time in banking. Early on, I would just grab lunch with people and never brought meals but I eventually transitioned to bringing my meals almost every day. However, I took the approach that I am going to bring a meal but if everyone is going somewhere healthy, I might audible and grab food with everyone else, then save that meal for the next day. Take the 80 / 20 approach and it will all work fine. Also, remember that you will be having dinner in the office as well so there are a lot of chances to grab food with the other analysts (and dinner is often the more dangerous one in terms of eating poorly).

Also, it will be a little weird if you just walk with them, don't grab anything and eat at your desk. But, why should you care?
