M Klein CAA new investment bank?
Anyone know anything about this new merger between the CAA merchant bank and M Klein? Looks like they’re trying to rival the LionTrees and Raines of the entertainment and sports space.
Thoughts on if this new bank (called CAA evolution) will be successful/actually see good deal flow?
As with all start-up IBs, there is something of a chicken and egg problem. No client wants to hire you until you prove your Bonafide's, but you cannot prove them until you've been hired. However, the brand value of CAA - M Klein have an opportunity to speed run that. Most likely they have worked on this in stealth for a few months and got some clients lined up before announcing.
Do the Mklein bros still put “A boutique investment bank” on LinkedIn?
I'm curious what this really changes. CAA already had a small in-house investment bank and M Klein already existed obviously. Where does this move the needle?
Bump.
Any insight from current employees on culture/comp/deal flow?
Must be a solid group
Think we'll need to see what happens but would second the first comment that I wouldn't be surprised if there were already deals in the pipeline before they formally launched
Bump
