I am a rising sophomore at a non-target (for everywhere but Charlotte) in NC. Ultimately I want to work at a BB in IBD. I currently intern at a small boutique M&A firm and want to move up and finding an IB internship (from non-target and not diversity) as a rising sophomore is quite the challenge. Would it look bad to try to get ER or S&T next summer at a BB (I know they're totally different than IB) when it comes to recruiting for my junior summer? Will going from M&A to ER/S&T hurt my story and lead to doubts in my interest in IB?
