Macbook for IB?
Hey all,Starting out as an analyst this year. Making more money than I ever thought I would as a 22 year old, but spending almost a thousand dollars on a new Thinkpad just seems gratuitous when I already have to spend a ton of money on work clothes and a WFH setup. Is it possible to use my Macbook in IB if I've bootcamped it to have Windows and also have an external keyboard? I figure this would allow me to use Excel as normal, but unsure if there are any catches to this. Anyone have thoughts? Should I just bite the bullet and get a Thinkpad?
Your firm didn’t provide you a laptop?
Also, no. I would probably go with a windows
That’s stupid don’t do it. I have a personal Mac for my life / artsy pursuits and a cheap Thinkpad (like 300-400) for work, which I didn’t even need since my firm provided laptops to full timers. 99% you have that available to you unless ur at a LMM boutique
*unless you’re at a LMM boutique or at Goldman Sachs…
