Main programs and databases at Bulge firms?

Does anybody have any input on what the main databases bulge firms use are? Do they all use the same ones? Do they all use a mix of, say, CapIQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.

Also, do BB firms use the 2003 series of Office or 2007?

Thanks for any info.

The BB I am at now uses all 3 as well along with Office 03. The MM I was at last summer only used CapIQ and Bloomberg and had recently made the switch to Office 07.

Guess it just depends where you're at.

Use mergermarket a lot too. I've worked at 2 banks, 2 fund managers, and an accounting firm this year, and they all use Office 2003. It's really starting to piss me off.

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.

damn lol the reason i ask is because i'm really used to 2007 and i'm not sure whether or not i should keep using it or try to get good with 2003 versions... i'm also worried that if i spend a lot of time working on '03, that by the time i get pretty proficient with it, banks will start switching to 07 lol
