Making a Homestay Marketable
I'm going on a 2-month long homestay this summer in Japan. For those who aren't familiar with homestays, you essentially live with a host family in a foreign country, and have an entirely open agenda -- you're free to do whatever you'd like (the primary purpose of them is to foster a cultural awareness). Once I complete the homestay, I have one more semester at school (non-target) before graduation.
Does anyone have ideas as to what I can do while on this homestay that would enhance my candidacy for a banking job at a BB or boutique? I recognize that an internship this summer would be exponentially better than a homestay, but part of the reason I'm doing this is because I have been unable to secure an internship this year.
