Making the most of Top10 MBA - weak work experience

Starting MBA program at Top10 school this fall; I acknowledge my acceptance was a miracle.
Kindly seek advice on how to make the most of this opportunity, coming from weak work experience since graduation in '09.
I've dabbled in marketing and media jobs/internships; ivy league undergrad in economics; trying to make career change into IB with renewed purpose.

1. How can I establish credibility as a career changer?
2. Should I not expect to aim too high, particularly with recruiting programs? Is there an alternative/middle-step path to BB positions, maybe via hard time spent at lesser branded firms?

Thankful for your advice!
