It depends on what you are going to trade, in all honesty. I use TOS, but I trade futures and I am not happy with their order execution on limit orders. So that is something to consider.
eTrade isn't great... I use it because I started on it like a decade ago when i was a freshman in HS, but I wouldn't recommend it.
