May I know what does being a generalist analyst in year 1 of investment banking means? Do you only do MA, ECM and DCM? What about Lev Fin or syndication? Thanks
I can only speak to M&A. being a generalist hear means you work on any kind M&A transactions. Think overflow staffing. what ever a specific group can handle you help get staffed on ( this doesn't mean less work) if your bank makes everyone a generalist (typically boutiques) it basically becomes a free for all on what you might work on.
