MBB London to IB NY
I’m not sure how common this path is.
Want to move over because I’ve realised I actually quite like the 3am grind (yes I know it’s masochistic), I love finance/ deal making and London feels like it has died. Worked with a few senior banking MDs on client work and liked working with themes.
I would need visa sponsorship. Am I able to apply for positions straight out or would I need an MBA?
FWIW I’m pretty confident of H/S given my background and will be sponsored so this won’t be an issue but would rather not waste 2 years.
Firms are unwilling to sponsor US students with OPT. 0.1% chance that they are going to sponsor an international candidate (apart from internal transfers)
Your best bet is to transfer internally within your MBB firm to the US with an L-1 (or and H1B) and then make the switch to IB.
