MBB to IB?
How (un)common is a lateral move from MBB consulting to IB? Currently ~2 years post-MBA and considering the switch.
What are the key overlapping skills you recommend highlighting, and what weak spots should I try to preempt and address?

Uncommon but not that uncommon. I work with a director who went MBA > MBB (made it to EM) > Strategic finance/Corp dev > IB. He’s very good at his job but truthfully ive never talked to him about why he did it. Obviously money and he’s a grinder but not too sure other than that
