MD Base Compensation

Hey

I wonder whether the base salary for MDs is a known data in BBs ? Is there a increase in the base pay or it basically remains flat with the bonuses making all the difference between the newly promoted guy and the head of the division ?

Also, I know that base salary is the same among groups in BBs (Coverage, DCM, ECM, Lev Fin, Corporate Banking) for A&A. Is that true for VPs Ds MDs, with the difference between groups being the variable ?

Happy to have some data points if possible.

(Long way to go before being an MD but curious to know...)

Tx

I’ve heard roughly 500k is standard. That being said if you’re not making significantly more with your bonus you’ll probably be pushed out.

About ~$400-600k.

For reference: Directors are ~$300-350k, VPs are ~$200-250k.

the base literally doesn't matter to them. If they aren't getting signficantly more in bonus they'll get cut and replaced with a new MD lol
