Meeting potential employers before another firm's interview

I got a final rd interview for a back office role at a BB about 2 weeks from now. I will fly to the interview city.

I am under consideration for at a small boutique firm for analyst position in the same city. I had a first round phone with them like 4 weeks ago and they still haven't told me anything yet. I checked in with them and was told that they are "still recruiting"?

Would it be okay for me to email the small boutique firm and request an in person meeting prior to my BB interview? I think if I take a morning flight, I will have 4-5 hr of free time. And how should I structure the email if I were to do this?

Thanks for the help guys

That doesn't seem like a bad idea. However, I would make sure that you are still being considered.

4 weeks sounds like an extremely long time to get back to you. Every interview that has moved me to the second rounds has been within 1 week.

Send an email and make the request, it is definitely a good idea.
