Meeting with former team after SA stint

Having completed a SA stint last summer at an alt asset manager, I did not convert. Presumably due to economic conditions and fit.

Last week I offered to grab a drink with a director I had a good relationship with just to catch up and say hello. Turns out they invited other people from the team who I also worked with for dinner.

I now have a sit down with a team that didn’t convert me last summer and not sure whether this is indicative of anything other than wanting to hang out together and grab dinner.

Would love some advice on how to approach / potential positive outcomes.

Thanks!

I think it means they think positively of you. Go and have fun- keep your expectations low. You never know they may find a better fit for you or recommend you to someone else who is hiring. It never hurts to keep friendly relationships - finance is a small world.

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.
