Would also love to know. At a no-name boutique in Minneapolis currently looking to lateral to a better shop (In the process anyway) with more M&A work than I currently get (more cap raises than M&A at my shop).
I'll hopefully let you know here in a few weeks. Any help is appreciated by other posters.
I’m involved in recruiting at a MM bank, we typically wouldn’t offer a lateral candidate a signing bonus of more than $5K unless it’s someone we had to have.
What? Banks typically pay out your accrued bonus at a minimum. If that's $5k, you better hope it's because they moved in the first week of the new year.

Find it hard to believe that VPs wouldn’t get some type of lateral bonus to stay equivalent on lost equity assuming their firm isn’t all cash comp
