Hello I am from a big 4 background and I am joining a mid market IB. My modelling experience is limited and I want to start preparing ahead of the job. What sort of models should I know really well how to build and what sort of complexity? If anyone can recommend any courses that target mid market IB this would be great. Thank you in advance

Wall Street Prep is the standard. For MM/LMM, it’s going to be historic spread of income statements and balance sheets, TTM income statement, and projected income statement. Valuation will be the usual, emphasis on trx. Keep an LBO in your back pocket for dealing with cheap sponsors.
What about preparing for when the data is messy?
Under 100mm top line data is almost always gonna be messy. That’s life in the lower mid market.
Brush up on basic accounting, be prepared to parse through cash-basis accounting done in Quickbooks, and become best friends with whomever is doing the sell-side QOE.
