middle/back office

I know these are middle and back office positions but what is the pay like in Credit Risk Management, Finance, Operations for associates, vps, svps etc? The pay is not on the same level as IB which I am well aware of but I was just wondering if working in these departments would make better money than most other jobs out there. Oh and whats the lifestyle like for this as well? Thanks for the info

I'd like to know the pay as well.

As for the hours, I do not think that 50-60 hours a week is out of the question. Even in Operations at some firms, especially depending on group, one could expect to stay until 8:30 pm while others can leave around 5:30pm.

Lifestyle compared to banking is MUCH more relaxed I think. Since BO/MO does not get a lot of face time with clients and stuff, the atmosphere is usually more laid back. Usually.

As for comparing to other industries, making $55K in Operations is a great gig, considering you don't need a college degree to do it. However, if you paid a lot of tuition and went to a private school just to land a BO spot, I would not think that it's worth it. But still, $55K is a great salary from starting out after college. Not the highest of course, but one of the best pay/lifestyle combos out there, in my opinion
