Minimal deal flow at BB
Hello fellow monkeys,
Almost hitting the 1 year mark for me at a BB satellite office as a generalist (more so focused in M&A) – have got a great team here at my office, and my only complaint here is the deal flow, it’s been minimal this year (I’ve heard the previous years have been better). Have been grinding out the pitches but we’re having a hard time getting deals here, let alone to execute.
My goal is going the standard path – 2-3 years in banking and move on to PE. However, I’m a little worried in terms of my exit opps because I haven’t had a chance to be on a real deal and do actual real modelling work. It seems like whenever we’re on deals, we end up passing it to the sector team to execute…
Question for you all in product groups, does your team do execution or does the sector team do it? Any advice for me here? Should I start looking at other banks or try to lateral to a sector group within my bank? Thanks for the advice in advance.
