Minimum time before inquiring about internal mobility?
I'm an incoming FT analyst at a BB in a tier 2/3 city and would like to move to NYC ASAP given the lack of finance opportunities in the tier 2/3 city and being away from family/friends.
How long should I wait before asking HR or my manager about transferring to the NYC office? Would it be possible to move cities internally after a year? Also, generally how receptive are BBs to geographic mobility assuming solid performance?
