Mizuho vs Nomura
Currently at a target school for both firms, but I see a lot of slander towards both on this site. Was trying to figure out which is better for deal flow/comp/hours before I decide which firm to put more energy into recruiting
These two often get lumped together but Nomura > Mizuho all day long. Mizuho has a nonexistent M&A presence. Nomura is clearly not a first choice for folks, but it’s a well respected MM, even more so globally. That said, they’re both IB, so you can always lateral man. Secure the offers first.
Nomura! Some of their sector teams are quite good and you can lateral easily to a BB
