MM IB SA in India (WFH). Thoughts?

I’ve been trying to break into IB for about 6-8 months now. im a recent grad from UWaterloo in Canada and I completed my degree in Honours Mathematics, Business Concentration with Computer Science minor.

I reached out to a mid-market IB firm in India and they have offered me a WFH internship for 2 months. Is this going to be valuable for my recruitment in IB in Canada or US? How should i make the most of this internship? what tasks should I ask for? Could you guys give me any thoughts on a personal project I can do to build up my portolfio?

i will be taking Wall Street Prep’s premium modeling course to level myself up over the next month. My aim is to recruit for IB in Canada or the US but at a bigger bank, not boutiques. What can I do differently than a lot of other candidates are doing , given my academic background is not the typical IB background?

thank you. I really want to get into IB since my first year of university, but my program/school isnt a target for IB here in Canada. Also, i got lost along the way while I was in school and forgot about recruiting for IB because my grades were shit. i have 6 internships/co-ops through my school program but none of them were IB. i am a permanent resident in Canada and have no international issues.

fast forward to now, i have been networking and getting on calls with 3-5 people everyday through LinkedIn. I believe i just lost hope for IB because of my grades and non-target school but from past 6-8 months, I've really been at it. this is the only offer I have so far and its unpaid. i have been messaging other people for unpaid internships in Canada but havent had any luck so far :(

yes, based in Toronto. Have been reaching out to IB analysts and associates out here but no luck. i should reach out hiring managers now, you’re right. Thank you.

would you also recommend to bring up some sample pitchdecks i have made or excel models i am currently working in the virtual call? im not an expert on modeling but i want to learn and get proficient.
